OUR STORY
Soil and Soul
Ileria Farms is a small urban and peri-urban farm rooted in Washington, D.C. and Prince George’s County, Maryland. Ileria Farms grows nourishing food and cultivates connections among people, land, and community.
We believe farming is about both what we harvest and how we cultivate it—how we care for the soil, nourish our communities, and create spaces where people can learn, gather, and grow. Founded by Dr. Shari Miles-Cohen, Ileria Farms brings regenerative agriculture, sustainable food production, education, and community engagement together in one place. You can find our seasonal produce, handcrafted foods, and farm-inspired merchandise at local markets, through our seasonal CSA, and at community events throughout the Washington, D.C. and Prince George’s County region.
Ileria Farms is also part of an integrated enterprise with Leading Across Difference, a leadership and organizational consulting practice. Together, our work spans what we call “soil and soul work”—the belief that many of the same principles that help living systems flourish can also help people, organizations, and communities thrive. From cultivating healthy soil and resilient local food systems to developing leaders, strengthening organizations, and creating opportunities for meaningful connection, our work is rooted in a shared purpose: to cultivate the conditions for people, places, and communities to flourish.
